PROJECT PLAN
Group 7

OVERVIEW
February 17, 2019
The capstone management team has proposed a project in order to better facilitate and manage the Capstone
course. In this portion of the project, the focus is on creating an efficient and user-friendly tracking system to
assist the IT department in managing and tracking project progress. The web-based tracking system will allow
the instructor of the course to upload projects to the site via an Excel sheet. This Excel sheet process is the
temporary upload process for the overall Capstone project and only used in this portion of the project. Users
will be able to review all the projects on the main page and see more details after clicking a project. Students,
sponsors, and instructors will be able to submit project statuses and comments on the project via a form page
on the website.
FINAL DELIVERABLES
The overall goal of this project is to have the ability to check the status of Capstone projects through a web-
based application.
Three pages are needed for this project:
1. A main dashboard page that displays all the active projects for the course. The dashboard will show
each project name and basic details of the project such as its current status. The projects will be color
coded according to the status of the project. If a team leader has missed turning in a required
document, e.g. a weekly report, the color of the project will be yellow. If the team leader has missed
two required documents than the color will be red. The default color is green.
2. After clicking a project, the page of that project will appear. The project page will show more details
like the members of the project, any comments or notes, and the weekly reports. The notes and
comments of the project will be displayed in the ascending order with the latest note on top.

project.
